Botanical Blooms Birthday

So I bet you can't guess what my favourite product suite from the new Occasions Catalogue is?  Yep, it's Botanical Gardens.  I especially love the framelits.  I was finding the colours of the DSP a little challenging to work with so went back to an old favourite - Melon Mambo.  I made this for The Challenge #55 (a sketch) at Always Playing With Paper.  It didn't quite come together as I had pictured but it has some of the components - I think I might have been closer if I had used a different sized card (maybe square?).  I used a piece if the Botanical Gardens designer vellum which is one of the SAB choices - designed to coordinate with the Botanical Gardens DSP but it's great on it's own.

  3. I think you've captured the essence of this sketch perfectly with your lovely papers and bloom with its sweet foliage. The colors are delightful, especially in the middle of winter. Love that pop of yellow in the flower. Wonderful card! Bev
